Bull Trout, Salvelinus confluentas, are not found in Crater Lake. However, they are found in Sun Creek and Lost Creek, both located in Crater Lake National Park(FaF). It is the only fish that is endangered fish in the park as well as the only native species of fish in the park. Its decline in population can be attributed to the introduction of non-native Rainbow trout and Brook trout. Habitat degradation has also played a significant role. Brook trout and Bull trout utilize similar niches in the creek ecosystems. This has led to competition between the two species and also hybridization. In 2005, a five mile section of Sun Creek contained approximately 2,400 bull trout(HaN). A great increase from the 1990 count which found about 130 bull trout left in both Sun and Lost Creeks(CLI).
